Dawn breaks slowly,
Sneaking quietly;
Stealing her way
To light the day.

What is in this day?
It’s new, yet. Untested.

Exhaustion hangs like a cloak,
Heaviness huddles in the cold.
Uncertainty clings in the dark.
But I hear only “Yes.”

Yes? Yes.

Yes to promises kept.
Yes to every need met.
Yes to grace, enough.
Yes to life abundant.

Yes, like a bright dawn,
A blazing fire,
Pushes back the darkness.

The big love
Of a great God
is Yes. Yes. Yes.

When dawn finally breaks
In all of her beauty,
There is no doubt
She defeats the dark.

For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between Yes and No. … And as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. 2 Corinthians 1:19-20.
